These Terms and Conditions apply to SMS notifications sent by Salata Home Alerts through a private Home Assistant system.
1. Description of Service
Salata Home Alerts provides automated SMS notifications for personal residential home automation events.
Messages may include alerts related to:
- Power outages
- Power restoration
- Security system activity
- Door, lock, and garage status
- Water leak detection
- Home system status updates
The service is used for informational and transactional home alerts only.
Individuals may sign up to receive alerts through the web form at salata.me/sms-alerts, or by configuring their own number within the private Home Assistant system.
2. Opt-In Consent
By providing a mobile phone number for Salata Home Alerts, the recipient agrees to receive automated SMS notifications related to home automation events.
Recipients may opt in through either of the following methods:
- Web form: By submitting their name and mobile phone number through the sign-up form at salata.me/sms-alerts and checking the consent box agreeing to receive automated home-system alerts.
- Manual configuration: When the homeowner or an authorized recipient enters their own mobile phone number directly into the private Home Assistant notification configuration.
In all cases, consent is given by the individual who owns the mobile number, and message recipients are limited to those who have provided their own number. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies depending on home automation events and system activity. Some months may have no messages, while other periods may include multiple alerts.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient’s mobile carrier and wireless plan.
5. Opt-Out Instructions
Recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message.
After opting out, the recipient will no longer receive SMS notifications from Salata Home Alerts unless they are manually re-added and opt in again.
6. Help Instructions
Recipients may reply HELP to any SMS message for assistance.

7. No Marketing Messages
Salata Home Alerts does not send marketing, promotional, sales, or advertising messages.
8. No Third-Party Sharing
Mobile phone numbers are not sold, rented, shared, or disclosed to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
9. Availability
SMS alerts are provided on a best-effort basis and may depend on Home Assistant, internet service, cellular networks, Twilio, and other third-party systems.
Salata Home Alerts is not a substitute for professional monitoring, emergency services, fire alarms, security monitoring, or life-safety systems.
10. Changes to Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page.
